Overstone welcomes USA Representatives
Overstone is proud to announce Chris Janelli and Christopher Jeans as the company’s representatives in the USA to support growing demand for the use of art as asset. Chris and Christopher bring collective decades of entrepreneurial and specialised experiences to Overstone’s team, and will be responsible for developing new business relationships, promoting products & services across the US.
Chris Janelli began his 45 year career in finance and business development, moving to Chase Private Bank and Chase Asia investment banking. He has pursued many entrepreneurial ventures and supported business in a wide variety of industries – product sourcing, manufacturing, shipping, oil & gas, telecoms. Christopher Jeans has been a Series 63 registered advisor for 10 years, and has 20 years of experience in fine and rare wine retail and has, over these years, engaged some of the US’s most important art museums and collectors.
CEO Harco van den Oever had to comment, “We’re at the stage where Overstone is building momentum. Both Chris and Christopher bring boundless enthusiasm and professionalism, and we are very excited to have them on board.” Art has long been recognised as a passion investment, with wealthy collectors dedicating their time and fortunes into amassing artworks. With 75% of unleveraged art assets stored in warehouses and considered “dead”, art-secured lending is a highly attractive prospect to generate liquidity.
“This is such an engaging and unique offering, I’m excited to contribute to Overstone’s growth and work with such a bright team,” Chris Janelli said of his appointment. Art assets incur legal and maintenance costs balanced against potential price appreciation, so understanding the full financial potential of an artwork is only the next level towards a holistic wealth management strategy. Collections require in-depth knowledge to manage over time, from storage to acquisition to sale. Overstone’s risk profiling products can give real-time access to the data of a collection and easy to understand reporting, with full service end-to end support for transactions.
